As soon as he was gone, his two companions sat down, and the wicked, evil leader began to speak . They made a pact that they were going to divide the gold among the three of them but one of them refused. When the pardoner finished their story, to take advantage of the impact it has had on the other pilgrims, he offers to sell them pardons and pray to God to forgive them for all the sins that they did and keep them from the sin of greed.
